The underlying beliefs that form the foundation of Cityfarm Edmonton are:
* We believe that access to and engagement in the natural environment and agriculture is critical to the development of children, youth, and their communities.
* We believe that connecting children, youth, and their communities with where their food comes from influences healthy food choices.
* We believe that adventure play engenders creativity, health, and well being in children and youth.
* We believe that role models are critical in fostering a child’s and youth’s understanding of the natural world and their part in it.
* We believe that preservation of agricultural land and natural environment is the responsibility of society and their governments.
